Access

Library Hub Compare requires users to log in. The service is available to all libraries which contribute data to the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase, and to Jisc members. There are two log in options.

UK Access Management Federation

If your institution is a member of the UK Access Management Federation, you can use your usual single sign-on details to log in to Library Hub Compare, via the 'Institutional Login' button on the homepage. This includes most UK colleges, universities and research establishments.

Using this mechanism for access to Library Hub Compare avoids the need for us to issue separate login details for the majority of users and ensures access is simple and easy. This does mean though that access to Library Hub Compare is available to all members of an institution who have an institutional ID and password.

Individual institutions and library staff may wish to consider if this accessibility poses any level of risk to their information sharing and collection management policies. If you do have concerns, please contact the NBK helpdesk in the first instance.

IdP login

If your institution is NOT a member of the UK Access Management Federation (you can find a list of UK Federation members here), we will need to create you an account in our own Identity Provider. You can register for an account by emailing us. Once you have your account details, log in using the 'IdP Login' button on the homepage.

Applications for access from other interested parties will also be considered, usually for a limited period. Please contact the NBK helpdesk in the first instance, explaining the reason for and duration of your request.
