What is Library Hub Compare?

Library Hub Compare is a collection management tool which allows you to analyse your library collections by comparing them with those of other institutions which contribute their records to the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase. It has several different search facilities, allows you to visualise your results as well as browsing a list of records, and allows you to export your results data for further manipulation and analysis. Who can use Library Hub Compare?

Library Hub Compare is available to all libraries which contribute their records to the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase, and to Jisc members. If you have a query about eligibility, please email the NBK helpdesk in the first instance.

How do I log in to Library Hub Compare?

You can log in to Library Hub Compare from the homepage, using either your UK Access Management Federation single sign-on details, or our own Identity Provider service. For more details on these options see our Access page.

Which libraries' records are included in Library Hub Compare?

Library Hub Compare allows you to search the records of all the libraries which contribute to the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase. You can find a list of current contributors, along with the date of their last update, on our Libraries page.

How does Library Hub Compare relate to Library Hub Discover and the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase?

The National Bibliographic Knowledgebase is a database of records contributed by academic, specialist and research libraries from across the UK. Library Hub Compare is a collection management tool which allows users to analyse and assess their collections, by comparing them with the records held in the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase. It is available to libraries which contribute records to the NBK, and to Jisc members. The parallel sevice Library Hub Discover is a resource discovery tool, which helps users to find materials in UK libraries, by searching the records held in the National Bibliographic Knowledgebase. It is an open service, available to all.
